Last week’s State of Play showed us the gameplay of Horizon: Forbidden West, and through the 14-minute snippet we saw, you might have missed a lot of tiny details hinting at different how different aspects of the games might be like.

Smoke Bombs

About 4 and a half minutes into the reveal, Aloy uses some type of a smoke grenade. The smoke bomb was not used by Aloy in Horizon: Zero Dawn. These were not addressed by Guerilla at the end of the preview while they were explaining other aspects of the game

Possible Aerial Combat System

At the beginning of the preview, as Aloy looks at the beautiful landscape, we notice a flying machine. Later, the team at Guerilla tells us the name of this machine, Sun Wing. The reveal tells us that there are machines to fight both at the land and the water. It is probably likely that we will either be able to ride or go up against them.

Aloy’s New Outfit

The graphical marvel of the world around her is so wonderful in this reveal that it is easy to not pay attention to Aloy herself. Aloy ditches her more famous outfit, the default one in the first game and the one in Forbidden West’s poster, and is instead seen in a green-brown look with accents of yellow in there. This outfit wasn’t present in the first game, and I believe this is the first time we have gotten a look at this piece of armor.

Although there were not a lot of hidden details, we might be able to find more on either further gameplay or when the game is eventually released, sometime later this year.
